Chongqing's calligraphy and painting auction concludes for the year! A first-ever night session saw a Zhou Chunya oil painting sell for 23 million yuan.
On December 24th, the Shangwenzhai 2023 Autumn Art Auction was held at the Wuzhou Grand Hotel in Chongqing, showcasing 492 oil paintings and Chinese calligraphy and paintings. The final transaction rate was approximately 70%, with a total transaction amount of approximately 40 million yuan. The top lot of the auction was Zhou Chunya's oil painting "The Season of Peach Blossoms in Full Bloom", which had a starting price of 6.8 million yuan and was sold for 23 million yuan.
This auction featured a special session for oil paintings, held in the evening, marking the first night session for art auctions in Chongqing.
