The first auction of the Shanghai International Cultural Relics and Art Auction Center Joint Trading Body was successfully concluded.

“Leveraging the platform of the Shanghai International Cultural Relics and Art Transaction Center’s joint trading body, we held our first auction across the Huangpu River, featuring over 500 lots.” Established nearly 20 years ago, Hongshen Auction is Shanghai’s first auction house to establish a dedicated contemporary art session. Two consecutive auctions held at the Shanghai Tower have allowed Sun Peishao, International Director of Hongshen Auction and Senior Expert at Shanghai Pilot Free Trade Zone International Cultural Investment and Development Co., Ltd., to experience the significant impetus provided by the Shanghai Pilot Free Trade Zone in cultivating the cultural and art market.

From December 24-25, the Hongshen 2023 Autumn Auction successfully concluded at the Shanghai Tower in Pudong's Lujiazui area. This was the first auction event since the 'Shanghai International Cultural Relics and Art Transaction Center' joint trading body officially launched in November this year, and also the first large-scale cultural relic and art auction held in Pudong. The successful conclusion of this auction marks the successful implementation of the first example of the 'Pudong model' for cultural relic and art transactions, and the industry practice of auctions not crossing the Huangpu River may become a thing of the past.
