Wu Zuguang (April 21, 1917 – April 9, 2003), also known as Wu Zhaoshi and Wu Shao, was a scholar, playwright, calligrapher, and social activist from Changzhou, Jiangsu Province, China. His representative works include "Phoenix City," "Ode to Righteousness," and "Returning Home in the Wind and Snow." In his early years, he studied calligraphy under his father's friend, the master calligrapher Shen Yinmo, starting with the styles of Wang Xizhi and Ouyang Xun. While he learned from the ancients, he did not rigidly adhere to their styles, developing his own unique approach. His calligraphy is characterized by elegance, grace, strength, and grandeur, truly reflecting the work of a master.
