Two beautiful women with melon-seed faces and willow eyebrows are depicted in the painting, dressed in elaborate robes. The woman on the left appears to be holding a guqin (a traditional Chinese stringed instrument), while the woman on the right, with a delicate and charming face, is shown in a posture suggesting prostration before a tree. She wears a formal and luxurious purple double-breasted garment with a flowing shawl and a long trailing skirt. This scene originates from the "Yingying Worships the Moon" scene in the West Chamber, where Yingying and her maid, Hongniang, are discussing preparations for the moon worship ceremony. This highlights the importance of the event to the protagonists.
