Collection Introduction: The belly of this meiping vase is tall and long, with the complete fish and aquatic plant design located in the upper two-thirds, while the lower part is filled with four clusters of lotus. The rim and neck are left blank, and the shoulders and base are outlined with double-ring string patterns as frames, within which the fish and aquatic plant design is painted. The fish and aquatic plant design features fish as the main subject, arranged in an evenly spaced circle, with lotus and aquatic plants interspersed among the fish, and various algae scattered around. Due to the tall and long belly of the meiping vase, the basic draft of the fish and aquatic plant design is arranged in the upper two-thirds, and the lower nearly one-third of the vessel surface repeatedly depicts lotus, aquatic plants, and algae, using rich decorative elements to extend the spatial depth within the lotus pond.
Blue and white porcelain first appeared in the Tang Dynasty, developed in the Yuan Dynasty, and reached its peak during the Ming Xuande period. From its emergence, it has attracted much attention, been loved, and highly praised for its unique artistic charm. There was once a saying in the industry: "Ming dynasty porcelain, blue and white Chenghua kiln, is inferior to Xuande kiln." During the heyday of the Jingdezhen kilns in the Xuande years, blue and white porcelain was meticulously crafted in every aspect, whether it was material selection, body formation, glazing, painting, or inscription. Compared to blue and white ware fired in previous dynasties, it can be said to be a masterpiece. (Provided by member 趙海龍)
