This piece has an everted rim, with gilding on the mouth. It features a constricted neck, two raised bands on the shoulder, and symmetrical elephant-head handles with rings on both sides. It has an arc-shaped belly, tapering inwards towards the base, which is supported by a ring foot with an outward-flaring foot rim. The foot rim is applied with a soy-brown protective glaze, imitating the appearance of 'iron bone'. The entire body is covered with an imitation Guan glaze, whose color is serene and elegant, and the glaze layer is thick and moist, accompanied by ice crackle patterns. The shape of this piece imitates bronze vessels with beast-mask handles (鋪首壺), presenting an ancient and elegant, solid and stable form, which perfectly complements the deep and rich glaze. The body is decorated throughout with ice crackle patterns, imbuing the monochrome glaze with a touch of vivacity, simple yet refined, grand and graceful.
