The mouth of the bottle flares outwards like a trumpet, with the rim covered in tin. It has a slender neck, which extends straight down to a bulging belly, and a slightly splayed foot ring. The entire vessel's decoration is divided into as many as nine layers: the upper part of the neck features banana leaf patterns, and the lower part has stylized lotus petal patterns. A band of scrolling grass patterns separates the neck from the belly. The main decorative motif on the belly is Ruyi cloud patterns, inside which are painted sea waves; between the cloud patterns are sprigs of Lingzhi fungus patterns, and below that is a band of coin patterns. The lower part of the body (tibia) features transformed lotus petal patterns, and the splayed foot ring is adorned with a band of scrolling grass patterns, echoing those on the neck. The craftsmanship of the entire piece is exquisite, the blue-and-white glaze has a pure color, and the patterns are rich and intricate. Among extant blue-and-white 'Yuhuchun' (pear-shaped) vases, those with Ruyi cloud patterns as the main motif are extremely rare and highly precious.
