The gourd vase, favored for its pleasing shape and homophonic with 'fortune and prosperity' (福禄), embodies auspicious meaning and was a popular decorative item in the Qing dynasty court. This vase features a straight mouth, long neck, constricted waist, and bulging belly. The neck is adorned with 'shou' (longevity) characters. The exterior wall has a yellow glaze background, and the entire body is painted with cloud and dragon patterns. The dragons vary in posture and color, and the glaze color is bright. The auspicious dragons are coiled and robust, powerful in their stance, with five claws and backward-sweeping whiskers. Flame patterns encircle their bodies, interspersed with cloud patterns. The lines are smooth, the painting lively, and it has quite an imposing presence.
