I am not usually good at painting cats. Younger brother Chong asked me to try, so I did this without worrying about skill or clumsiness. It may not be as good as an expert's work, but it still has a lively and spirited quality. I wonder what the experts think? Pan Ran added this inscription in the twelfth month of the Gengxu year.

Pan Junnuo (1906~1981), whose given name was Ran, courtesy name Junnuo, and later styled Ran Weng, with a studio named Tianchong Xiaozhu, was from Zhenjiang, Jiangsu Province.
He developed a passion for art in his youth. In 1930, he studied at the Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts under Zheng Wuchang, specializing in flowers, plants, and insects.
He was skilled in finger painting, creating a unique style. He was also adept at realistic painting, composing music, and even possessed the skill of vocal mimicry. He was a member of the Chinese Artists Association.
