This piece features a flared rim, shallow belly, and ring foot. It is entirely covered in sky-blue glaze, with the bottom of the foot unglazed and protected by a brownish-sauce colored ring. The rim is grayish-brown, and ice cracks are spread throughout the inside and outside of the dish. Jun ware is one of the five great kilns of the Song dynasty, known for its dazzling and varied kiln-transformed glazes, with a thick glaze texture on the surface of the ware. This Yuan dynasty Jun ware dish has a regular shape, possessing a dignified and splendid beauty. The object's contours are distinct; from afar, it resembles a vast, boundless blue sky, while up close, it appears like stars or beautiful jade, utterly beautiful without ostentation.
