Ru ware celadon sunflower wash from the Northern Song Dynasty

Ru ware represents the pinnacle of Chinese porcelain, with nearly all of the 79 surviving pieces worldwide housed in major museums globally. In April 2012, a 900-year-old "Northern Song Ru ware celadon-glazed sunflower washbasin" fetched a record-breaking HK$207.86 million at a "Chinese Ceramics and Works of Art" auction held at Sotheby's Hong Kong, setting a new world auction record for Song Dynasty porcelain.
