The rim of this item is extremely flat, with string patterns on the outer ring. Inside the constricted neck, both top and bottom are adorned with circular string patterns. The belly is full and flattened, exuding a sense of robust antiquity. The base stands on three sturdy, short, and powerful legs with stable bottoms. When placed on a table, it is as unmoving as a mountain rock; when held in hand, it has a weighty feel, not light at all, and when tapped, it produces a clear, melodious sound. The surface is plain, yet the bronze quality and traces of its ancient age are captivating. It is exactly as described in "Shen's Little Compendium of Xuande Censers": "Those in the style of ancient tripods, especially those that are round and plain, are worthy of high appreciation." Ge-shaped vessels have existed since ancient times, with pottery 'ge' in the Stone Age, and bronze 'ge' in the Xia, Shang, and Zhou dynasties. Celadon 'ge' appeared during the Han-Wei and Northern and Southern Dynasties, and continued through the Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties. The 'ge' censer was originally a ritual vessel. In ancient times, there were 'ge' with separated legs and 'ge' with rope handles. Later, after modifications, the separated legs were integrated into the belly, the handles were removed, the mouth was flattened, a double string pattern formed the neck, the belly became prominently bulging and rounded, and the three feet were grand and powerful, showcasing exquisite craftsmanship and fine resonance.
