This pair of jars, with lids, has deep bellies and ring feet. The exterior is decorated with famille rose enamel, depicting the God of Longevity riding on a deer's back, pointing at a bat, and looking towards the longevity peach held in the sacred deer's mouth. Deer (lu) is homophonous with 'prosperity' (lu), and bat (fu) is homophonous with 'good fortune' (fu). 'Fu Lu Shou' symbolizes wealth, fame, and longevity. The overall design is rich, with auspicious symbolism, clear and beautiful glazes, and lively painting. It is a perfect piece. Luo Su-shi excels in figure painting, and his works have always been highly favored by collectors.
