The porcelain plaque is rectangular, with a white glaze as its ground, and the glaze surface is delicate and pure white, thick and lustrous. It is decorated with a “Tang Xuanzong Inquiring about the Dao” scene in famille rose enamels. In the courtyard, Emperor Xuanzong of Tang wears a ceremonial crown, holds a ruyi scepter, and has a jade pendant hanging from his body, everywhere showcasing his status. Beside him stands a person dressed in a Taoist robe, holding a ritual instrument in one hand and a Buddhist whisk in the other. Inside the pavilion, a beautiful woman plays music. The composition of the painting is well-arranged, the figures are vividly depicted, and the colors applied are bright and generous, highlighting the craftsman's skillful technique.
