This piece features a flared rim, deep curved belly, flat bottom, and a ring foot. The exterior is applied with eggplant purple glaze, while the interior of the bowl is applied with white glaze. There is glaze accumulation at the foot ring. Eggplant purple glaze, also known as aubergine glaze, is a type of low-temperature colored glaze. According to Volume 3 of 'Jingdezhen Ceramics Record' by Lan Pu of the Qing Dynasty, purple glaze is synthesized from black lead powder, combined with cobalt ore and stone powder.

There is glaze accumulation at the foot rim. Aubergine glaze, also known as eggplant purple glaze, is a type of low-temperature colored glaze. Volume 3 of Qing Lanpu's "Jingdezhen Pottery Records" states: "Purple glaze is composed of black lead powder, stone green, and stone powder." It is known that the main colorant for purple glaze should be manganese, while iron and cobalt in the glaze act as toners, ultimately forming a purple color similar to eggplant skin, hence the name.
