Straight mouth and bulging belly, with a glazed rim and sloping shoulders. This jar is named for its lotus seed-like shape, a common style from the late Ming to early Qing dynasties. The entire vessel is covered with white glaze, inside and out. The main decoration features incised lions amidst peony scrolls, complemented by a band of Ruyi cloud motifs on the shoulder and interlocked leaf patterns on the foot. The carving technique is crisp and the patterns are typical, making it a fine piece from the same period.
