This jade plaque is carved from white jade; the jade is pure white and delicate, lustrous as congealed fat. The plaque body is square with inwardly curved corners. The top is carved with scroll cloud patterns. The front features the theme of "Yī Tuán Hé Qì" (A Mass of Harmony), and the back is engraved with the four characters "一团和气". "Yī Tuán Hé Qì" is one of China's traditional auspicious patterns. It first appeared in the "Yī Tuán Hé Qì Chart Praise" inscribed by Emperor Xianzong Zhu Jianshen of the Ming Dynasty. This work depicts a smiling, benevolent, and friendly round human figure, symbolizing stability and harmony.
