This pair of vases features a flared mouth, wide neck, sloping shoulders, a flattened belly, and a ring foot. The outer wall is decorated with famille rose reserves. Turquoise green glaze and pearl-ground depict patterns of flowers and butterflies, 'hui' patterns, and ruyi cloud head patterns. Within the four corner-shaped reserves on the belly, there are famille rose paintings of courtyard figures. The interior and exterior bottom of the vessel are covered with white glaze.
The rouge-red landscape painting depicts a vast and distant space with steep cliffs rising thousands of feet. Amidst the lush green and overlapping peaks, ancient trees cast shadows, and houses are faintly visible. Inside the famille rose courtyard reserves, children are playing and roses are in full bloom, presenting a scene of peace and harmony. The overall composition of this pair of vases is intricate, with distant and near elements complementing each other, and rich, vibrant colors, making them a masterpiece of Qianlong famille rose porcelain.
