This cong-style vase has a flaring mouth, short neck, flat folded shoulders, a square body on four sides, and a slightly splayed foot ring. This vase's flaring mouth and round base, with its square body, subtly allude to the concept of "heaven is round and earth is square," a traditional form of Qing dynasty imperial kilns. The belly is painted with fencai (famille rose) "Wushuang Pu" (Unparalleled Heroes) figures, specifically Jiangdong Sun Lang (Sun Ce), Longmen Sima Zichang (Sima Qian), Empress Wu Zetian of "Pseudo Zhou" (Wu Zetian), and Fu Sheng (Fu Sheng), accompanied by ink-colored poetic inscriptions. The painting is meticulous, the colors are vibrant, the form is rustic and quaint, and the body is dense and heavy, making it particularly rare. Since the Kangxi reign, "Wushuang Pu" figures have become a common motif on ceramic works, prevailing from the Daoguang to Tongzhi reigns. Porcelain "Wushuang Pu" paintings usually combine illustrations with text, highly favored by porcelain collectors.
