Mark 'Made in the Qing Dynasty during the Qianlong Reign' in six-character seal script. This piece features a flared rim, long neck, globular body, and ring foot. From the rim downwards, it is adorned with Ruyi patterns, scrolling floral motifs, scrollwork, upright lotus petals, and keyfret patterns, among others. The entire belly of the vase is painted with the story of Zhong Kui marrying off his sister. The scene is a continuous, all-encompassing composition, divided into three groups by two wutong trees, a cluster of emerging wutong branches and leaves, and a rockery. One group depicts a ghost holding a brocade banner over its shoulder with one hand and a bat in the other, leading the way forward but also turning its head back; another group shows two ghosts walking one after another, with one carrying a pole and the other a lamp, both looking at each other; the last group is the main theme of the scene: Zhong Kui rides ahead on horseback, followed by two ghosts carrying a palanquin, on which sits Zhong Kui's sister. Zhong Kui turns his head back, holding a fan in one hand and waving with the other, his mouth slightly open as if conversing with his sister. The overall form of the vessel is elegant, the glaze is evenly applied, the colors are bright and clear, and the scene is lively.
